Face Detection
Headlab uses specially developed face-detection software, extended with chroma-classification techniques. A simple, yet elegant interface assists you when taking your pictures. By guiding users to take pictures within pre-defined parameters, Headlab is able to generate a database with highly consistent footage, which is essential when using pictures in a dynamic way.
Dynamic retouching
After taking the picture, the software procudes a clean cut of your head. Using eye and mouth detection and color-models for chin-line fitting Headlab is able to separate your head from the background, leaving an image of just your head. The software then changes hue, saturations, brightness and contrast of the picture, in order to fit it seamlessly in any output (like a movie or a game).
Industrial design
Using sturdy stainless steel for the framework we designed and built a futuristic chair, elegantly dimensioned which fits nicely in a various environments. It mounts the interface while still permitting access to the users to get in and out off the chair. Besides giving the chair a sense of freshness, the chromakey green seating enables us to generate better results with dynamic retouching techniques.
